Bristol Standard

The self-evaluation framework, known as the Bristol Standard, is designed to help nurseries, pre-schools, reception classes and child-minders to reflect on, assess and improve their practice.

The Bristol Standard has received national acclaim and been accredited with Quality Assurance Status under the national Investors in Children scheme. As a result of its success, six other local authorities are now using the Bristol Standard.

Cllr Jos Clark, executive member for children's services, said: "We are very proud of the Bristol Standard which is an excellent self-evaluation framework which has had national acclaim and accreditation.

"Many settings across Bristol and across all sectors working with 0-5 year olds are coming along to celebrate achieving the Bristol Standard.  We would like to commend them for their hard work, dedication and commitment in promoting positive outcomes for children's learning, the main purpose of the Standard."
